What is the difference between standard (2D) and 3D Embossing Folders, you ask? The 3D Embossing Folders apply a much deeper and richer texture to your materials. However, the 3D Embossing folders do require a Universal Plate System (or a compatible machine), which allows for the thicker embossing folders to run through your machine. Both embossing folder clubs will feature a unique embossing option each month. They will generally complement each other.

    How to Build a 3D Embossing Folder Sandwich:
    From the Bottom...

    • Place Platform Base (A),
    • Add 3D Embossing Folder with Paper Inside,
    • And top with Adapter Plate (D)*.

    Roll the Sandwich through your Spellbinders Platinum Machine.

    Difficulties getting a good impression using a Sizzix Big Shot Plus

    "I was really looking forward to receiving my 3D embossing folder, but I'm really struggling to get a good 3d impression of the folder especially around the edges of the image. I've used two pieces of cardstock & a thin piece of A4 foam. And the impression in the middle is coming out lovely, but around the edges it's too soft. Please can someone advise?"

    "I recieved an email asking me to do a review of my brand new embossing folder. I am actually a member of 4 clubs. unfortunately I havent recieved any, and when they do arrive I am sure I will have paid 4 hefty postage charges that all exceed the value of each of the items in each package, that I will eventually get. The items for February were not recieved until mid March. I cannot tell you anything about what the items are, because of the I could not find any information on utube except for 30 seconds of someone else undertaking a speeded up activity. I had expected that I would recieve all items together. It doesnt inspire me to make something when everyone else is opening up"
